Facilities
Located in the Adams Humanities building (see map)
of San Diego State University, the School of Nursing maintains four laboratory facilities for students:
- Media Lab
Contains a DVD and videotape library, PCs, instructional software, multimedia software and equipment, and medical diagnostic equipment provided for student use.
- Nursing Fundamentals Skills Lab
The skills lab has 10 hospital beds with manikins that are used to teach nursing skills of in-hospital patients.
- Physical Assessment Lab
Examination rooms are used to simulate the real-world assessment environment.
- Sharp Healthcare Human Patient Simulation Center
The Sharp Healthcare Human Patient Simulation Center (SHC HPSC) is a 7 bed simulated hospital unit housed in the SDSU School of Nursing, made possible by the help of a million dollar grant from Sharp Healthcare for operation of the Center.
In addition, SON students have access to the University's computing facilities available to all SDSU students.
