Facilities

Located in the Adams Humanities building (see map) of San Diego State University, the School of Nursing maintains four laboratory facilities for students:

  • Media Lab
Contains a DVD and videotape library, PCs, instructional software, multimedia software and equipment, and medical diagnostic equipment provided for student use.

  • Nursing Fundamentals Skills Lab
The skills lab has 10 hospital beds with manikins that are used to teach nursing skills of in-hospital patients.

  • Physical Assessment Lab
Examination rooms are used to simulate the real-world assessment environment.

  • Sharp Healthcare Human Patient Simulation Center
The Sharp Healthcare Human Patient Simulation Center (SHC HPSC) is a 7 bed simulated hospital unit housed in the SDSU School of Nursing, made possible by the help of a million dollar grant from Sharp Healthcare for operation of the Center.

In addition, SON students have access to the University's computing facilities available to all SDSU students.
