Compliance

In order to attend clinical practica, each nursing student must present a Compliance Permission Slip to the clinical instructor at the start of each semester. Faculty will not allow any student who does not present a permission slip to attend clinical. Faculty may allow students to attend orientation sessions so long as there is no contact with patients.

A background check and drug screen is required of all students upon admission. This check will be repeated for any student who has not been enrolled in a nursing course for more than one semester. You will be responsible for the cost of the background check. You must be willing to participate in any investigation and give permission for the results to be provided to the school of nursing when requested.

If at any time you fail the screening you will be removed from the clinical situation and may not be eligible for placement in another agency for the remainder of the academic semester. Failing a screening may be grounds for disqualification from the nursing program.
