School Nurse Services Credential

Letter to Applicants

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in San Diego State University School of Nursing. The School of Nursing offers both a School Nurse Credential Only program and a graduate curriculum leading to a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a Community Health/School Nurse concentration.

The School Nurse Credential Only program consists of 28 post-baccalaureate units and is designed for either full or part-time study (part-time study= 6 units per semester= 2 courses). The Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a Community Health/School Nurse concentration is a 43 unit program and requires successful completion of either a thesis or written and oral exam at the end of the program. This program is also designed for either full or part-time study.

If you decide to apply to the School Nurse Credential Only program it will be necessary to complete a University graduate admissions application and a School of Nursing, School Nurse Credential Only application. The University graduate admissions application is available online (www.csumentor.edu). The School of Nursing, School Nurse Credential Only application (.pdf, 23 kb) can be downloaded. Applications may also be requested by contacting the School of Nursing (619-594-2540).

If you are interested in the MS program with a Community Health/School Nurse concentration, see the MS program link for more information regarding the application process. Applications to either the School Nurse Credential Only program or the MS program are due by May 1st to be considered for the fall semester and November 1st to be considered for the spring semester. If you miss the application deadline, please contact me for further information regarding late registration.

An online version of the catalog is available for quick reference only, however current students must always reference the PRINTED catalogs.
