School Nurse Services Credential
Program Requirements
This page lists all admission, prerequisite, and graduation requirements of the School Nurse Services Credential program.
Program Admission Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field*.
- Current California Registered Nurse License, current CPR, current liability insurance.
- Required admission and planning interview with program adviser.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate upper division courses.
- An undergraduate community health nursing course.
- One year experience as a registered nurse within five years of application.
Program Graduation Requirements
The following program elements are required of all School Nurse Credential candidates (28 units):

| NURS 674 | Health Education for School Nurses | 3 |
| CSP 600 | Crosscultural Counseling Communication Skills | 2 |
| CSP 600L | Crosscultural Counseling Prepracticum (Cr/NC) | 1 |
| SPED 500 | Human Exceptionality | 3 |
| Audiometry | Three unit course selected with approval of advisor | 3 |
| Total | 28 |
* Registered Nurses with baccalaureate degrees in other disciplines MAY apply for the credential program and will be evaluated on an individual basis. Acceptance into the program may require additional courses to satisfy deficiencies. Contact the program advisor to discuss your individual situation.
