Doctor of Nursing Practice
Overview
San Diego State University School of Nursing will offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
The DNP is a professional degree with a focus on the advanced practice of nursing in clinical, organizational/ administrative, and educational settings. The degree emphasizes evidence-based practice in all areas. This is a rigorous program offering the student increasing understanding, development of and opportunities for utilization of evidence-based practice methods and outcomes.
The DNP at SDSU is developed in partnership with Cal State San Marcos, whose faculty are active participants in course development, teaching, and student support. This DNP program offers courses with in class time, online opportunities, and clinical/residency hours in appropriate clinical or administrative settings.
