Prospective RN-to-BS students must apply to both the University and the School of Nursing RN-to-BS program.

• Applying to the University

  The Undergraduate Admission Requirements for SDSU are maintained on the University's Admissions page.

  Prospective students apply to SDSU by using the online application to San Diego State.

  Prospective international students follow a different application procedure. Please see the international student undergraduate application.

• Applying to the RN-to-BS Program

  1. Check the Program Requirements page to be sure you have met the application requirements and are eligible to apply. To determine if you meet the transfer requirements as an upper division transfer student it is highly advised you go to a local community college to have your transcripts analyzed.

  2. Submit the RN-to-BS application (.pdf, 31 kb) August 1-31 for admission for the following spring admission and November 1-30 for admission the following fall. The deadline for submitting supplemental materials are December 30 for spring admission and June 5 for fall admission.

PLEASE NOTE- Course and graduation requirements for all SDSU programs change periodically. Official requirements are always current in the PRINTED university catalogs. An online version of the catalog is available for quick reference only, however current students must always reference the PRINTED catalogs. Copies are available in the bookstore and from department staff.
