Academic Programs

The SDSU School of Nursing offers numerous accedited academic programs of study, from the undergraduate to advanced-credential levels.

An option for working RNs to attain a Bachelor's of Science degree, and numerous specializations within the Master's program are also available.

SDSU nursing graduates also enjoy the benefits of the strong partnerships that the SON has built within the local healthcare community. Please explore the range of degree options available at the School of Nursing.

    SON Students

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS) A four-year undergraduate degree for students planning a career in nursing.
RN-to-BS An option available to already-licensed RN's wishing to attain the Bachelor's degree. Previous coursework is credited and innovative teaching strategies are available to the working nurse.
Master of Science in Nursing (MS) A 39-52 credit hour advanced degree available to those with bachelor's degrees. Numerous concentrations/specializations are available. Those RNs with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing may also apply.
School Nurse Credential A 31-credit hour credential program that will allow RNs with a baccalaureate degree to work as a School Nurse.
Post Masters Nursing Education Certificate This 12-credit hour advanced certificate in nursing education prepares nurses holding master's degrees in nursing for the educator role in academic or clinical settings.
