The purpose of the Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Program is to award scholarships to U.S. citizen students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia nursing programs.
The 2013 scholarships will be awarded in memory of Captain Bruce Kevin Clark, Army Nurse Corps. In May 2012, while deployed to to Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan in support of US and coalition forces, he lost his life due to noncombat-related causes. Captain Clark joined the US Army in 2006 after completing his baccalaureate in nursing at The College of Brockport, State University of New York. He served at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, and at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, before his deployment. ANCA salutes Captain Clark for his patriotic service and sacrifice for his country.

Interested applicants are invited to submit an essay of 500-1000 words explaining what it is they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field. Applicants and potential scholarship winners will be critiqued by the editorial staff at TravelNursing.org and selected annually on February 10th. Applications are due by January 10th.

Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) by HRSA |

HRSA's Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP),
managed by the Bureau of Health Professions' Division of Nursing, was appropriated
$10.2 million for FY 2002. The NELRP is designed to assist in the recruitment
and retention of registered nurses dedicated to providing health care to
undeserved populations by providing substantial economic assistance to repay
their educational loans in exchange for service to the undeserved in eligible
health facilities.
All NELRP participants must enter into a contract agreeing to provide
full-time employment in an approved eligible health facility for 2 or
3 years. In return, the NELRP will pay 60 percent of the participant's
total qualifying loan balance for a 2-year commitment or 85 percent of
the participant's total qualifying loan balance for a 3-year commitment.

The SNAPLE NSF is a state-funded competitive registered nurse incentive program administered by the California
Student Aid Commission (Commission). It is designed to encourage outstanding students to obtain their California Registered Nursing License and serve in an eligible position as a registered nurse in a state-operated facility with a registered nurse vacancy rate greater than 10 percent. This year the Commission will select up to 100 new participants for the program.
Under the provisions of the SNAPLE NSF program, the Commission will assume up to $20,000 of outstanding educational loan balances. To be eligible, participants must work in an eligible position as a registered nurse in a state-operated facility with a registered nurse vacancy rate greater than 10 percent. |

The United States Department of State is pleased to announce the scholarship competition for the 2011 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program for overseas intensive summer language institutes in thirteen critical need foreign languages. CLS institutes provide fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for U.S. citizen undergraduate and graduate students.
Interested applicants should review the full eligibility and application information on the CLS Program website at www.clscholarship.org/applicants. Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Russian, and Japanese institutes have language prerequisites, described at http://www.clscholarship.org/applicants.htm#prerequisites. The deadline to apply for the 2011 CLS Program is November 15, 2010.
Students in all disciplines, including business, engineering, law, medicine, sciences, and humanities are encouraged to apply. While there is no service requirement attached to CLS Program awards, participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers.

The APNA Janssen Student Scholarship Program includes registration, travel and lodging expenses to attend the APNA 24th Annual Conference, October 13-16, 2010, in Louisville, Kentucky. A stipend for meals and expenses is also provided. In addition, winners will receive one year complimentary membership in the APNA.
