The School of Nursing educates and empowers pre-licensure undergraduate students to advance equitable healthcare and wellbeing in the nursing profession and across diverse communities. Through research we promote professional and personal growth to address emerging nursing roles and trends that impact health and health care systems.

Student Learning Outcomes: Baccalaureate Program

  1. Integrates knowledge of liberal arts and the sciences into personal and professional development.
  2. Demonstrates person-centered care using the nursing process.
  3. Consistently uses communication, assessment, contextual knowledge, clinical judgment, and evidence in the delivery of nursing care.
  4. Upholds professional values and standards of nursing practice in all settings and among diverse populations.
  5. Demonstrates a continuum of professional growth and learning.
  6. Demonstrates effective collaboration skills when interacting with patients, families, populations, and other clinicians.
  7. Develops the capacity for leadership within local, national, and global healthcare.
  8. Demonstrates knowledge of the role of nursing in influencing Population Health spanning the continuum from prevention to disease management.
  9. Apply current quality and safety principles to enhance patient outcomes and minimize risk of harm to patients and clinicians.
  10. Develops competent use of healthcare technology and Informatics.
