Lauren P. Hunter, Ph.D., CNM, WHNP, FACNM joined the SDSU faculty in 1996 (Adjunct) with the advent of the SDSU-UCSD Graduate Nurse-Midwifery Education program. She became full-time faculty in 2004 in and assumed the role of Nurse-Midwife/WHNP Concentration Chair and Program Director. She became a full professor in 2010 based upon her research trajectory and teaching expertise. Dr. Hunter is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Hunter has specialized in Maternal Health Nursing with over 30 years of nursing and nurse-midwifery in this field.
