Concentration Chair

Program Highlights:

  • Blended Advanced Practice Nursing program with two and three year program options (50 Units - total)
  • Traditional classroom model for all clinical coursework
  • Executive model for four required graduate nursing core courses
  • Preceptorship placements facilitated by School of Nursing faculty in:
    • NP clinical preceptorships in primary care and specialties
    • CNS clinical preceptorships in acute and critical care settings
  • Program is optimum for RNs with at least 2-3 years of acute care experience
  • California registered nurse license required for program admission

Program Outcomes: 

  • The combined Masters of Science Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist program prepares graduates to take the:
    • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) exam through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC); OR the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification (AGNP-C) through The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
    • And additionally take the Acute-Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialists through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN); OR the Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist Adult-Gerontology (ACCNS-AG) exam through ANCC.
